Halverson family ready to offer experienced care in
peaceful, rural home!
I am Angela Halverson, and I live in Aitkin, MN with my
four children, who range in age from six to 21. Our
three-story home features five bedrooms and it is fully
accessible, including a ramp for easy entry. We are
also a pet-friendly home with a strong commitment to
animal rescue. Our home is a supportive, welcoming
space that blends structure with flexibility, making it
ideal for individuals who thrive in a nurturing, home
setting.
Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and caring
environment where everyone feels they belong. In my free
time, if I’m not helping someone, I enjoy creative and
meaningful activities like painting, singing, and spending
time outdoors. The most important things in my life are
faith, family, and following my heart. We stay engaged in
our community in a variety of ways. Our family participates
in church activities, school events, and community
outreach such as ministering in local jails.
We make a strong effort to stay involved in each
other’s lives and create a space where everyone feels
heard and valued. We make a point to unplug from
electronics and focus on being present with one
another—whether that’s playing outside, coloring,
agate picking, or heading to the beach. Whether its
summer or winter, the spirit of togetherness and
enjoying each other’s company is something we
create regularly. A new person in our home would
have a private space that they can truly make their
own. We want each person to feel comfortable,
settled, and proud of their space.
Our family also has previous experience with adult foster
care, which has helped us develop unique perspectives, as
well as deep empathy, patience, and understanding for
others. In 2009, I began working as a Personal Care
Assistant (PCA), where I gained hands-on experience
supporting individuals with a wide range of needs. In 2018,
I began working with Lutheran Social Services (LSS) Host
Homes. These combined personal and professional
experiences have shaped my strong commitment to
creating a safe, supportive, and compassionate
environment for those in my care.
