Mary Conroy – Blaine, MN

My name is Mary Conroy, and I live in a quiet and
friendly neighborhood in Blaine, Minnesota. I have two
adult daughters who visit often, along with my
granddaughters. I live in a split-level house that has
four bedrooms. The person I support would have the
option of either an upstairs or downstairs private
bedroom and bathroom, while the rest of the home
would be shared. The house is comfortable and there
is plenty of space to make your room your own. This
would be a great fit for someone who enjoys stability
and a sense of belonging.
I like to stay active and involved in my community by
going to church, visiting the library, going to the
movies, and participating in community events. I also
love taking long weekend trips and would be thrilled to
support someone who also enjoys traveling. Every
winter, I spend a couple of months in Arizona, where I
own a second home. I would love to support someone
who would also like to come along with me during that
time.
At home, I enjoy reading, writing stories, and helping
people learn new skills, like cooking. I’m happiest when I’m
helping others succeed.
I’ve been an adult foster care provider for about 40 years,
starting with respite care and eventually moving into longterm support. I worked as a nurse for more than 30 years
and have extensive experience supporting people with
epilepsy, diabetes, and other medical needs. My
background in caring for children with high medical needs
and supporting adults with a wide range of abilities has
taught me patience, compassion, and the importance of
treating every person with dignity. Family has shaped
every part of who I am. I adopted four daughters – two of
them passed away in childhood due to significant health
challenges. While losing them was incredibly hard, they
taught me so much about life, and how to live each day to
its fullest. I truly love this work, and I’m excited to continue
my journey in adult foster care!
