My name is Amina Mohamed and I live in Coon Rapids, Minnesota with my three daughters, ranging in age from 10 to 14. I am choosing to open up our home because I believe every child deserves a safe, loving space where they can feel seen, heard and supported. Welcoming someone new into our home is not just about providing shelter, it’s about offering connection, stability and a sense of family.
Our daily routine is centered around personal well-being and balance. I value personal growth and enjoy learning new things, reading, and staying active. We are a close-knit family that shows care for one another through active listening, support during tough times, and thoughtful gestures like cooking meals and spending quality time together. Our family dynamic is always evolving, and we welcome newcomers with open communication, empathy and flexibility. Family, friends, health, and fitness are all important to us, and we strive to maintain a peaceful and supportive environment.
We live in a beautiful neighborhood with many nearby parks. Our home offers a warm, welcoming space with plenty of room for everyone. Our home includes a balcony, patio, and both a half and full bathroom, creating a comfortable and functional living space. There are two bedrooms available to choose from, for the person we support.
My personality is grounded in kindness, patience, and a genuine desire to support others. Originally from Kenya, I bring a rich cultural background and strong family values which emphasize respect, compassion, and the importance of raising children with integrity. I find joy in creating a nurturing environment that encourages growth and belonging. Our home is a judgment-free zone where thoughts and feelings are respected, and kindness is a daily practice. I’ve built a family culture rooted in empathy, open communication and mutual respect. I want every child here to know that they matter, and that they have a place where they can thrive emotionally, socially and spiritually.
