The housemates at McMenemy are all non-verbal, profoundly intellectually disabled, ambulatory in the house and use wheelchairs in the community. They range in age from 50-85. One has auditory sensitivity so we can’t take anyone loud or with a high-pitched voice. There is some minor self injury, triggered by noises, and this person may hit the wall too. There are no aggressions to others. The home is co-ed. We are not appropriate for someone with mental health as a primary diagnosis.
